FDA is short for The United States Food and Drug Administration. It is a federal law enforcement agency authorized by the United States Congress to enforce the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and to regulate drugs, medical devices, health products, foods, and cosmetics. It touches the lives of every American citizen. Internationally, FDA is recognized as one of the largest food and drug regulatory agencies in the world. Many other countries promote and monitor the safety of their own products by seeking and accepting the FDA's help.

The scope of administration of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) includes: food, drugs (including veterinary drugs), medical devices, microbiological products, cosmetics, animal food and drugs, radioactive products and their supervision and inspection; Testing, inspection and certification of items affecting human health and safety resulting from ionic and non-ionic radiation produced during use or consumption of the product. According to the regulations, these products must be certified safe by the FDA before they can be sold on the market. The FDA has the power to inspect manufacturers and prosecute violators. For all kinds of food and drugs entering the American market, FDA has also formulated corresponding regulations for certification, and made clear provisions on the packaging, labeling, testing and testing methods of the certification.
